System Failure: Memory Rituals For The Constant Struggle

Toronto, 12.01.22

electronica minimal synth musique concrete

System Failure’s first show for 2022 is a mix of field recordings, sound art pieces, spoken word as well as archival reissues, and brand new works by women in experimental and electronic paths, throughout the decades around Greece, Egypt, Cameroon, Slovenia, Russia, and South East Asia among others. From avant-garde, to noise, to experimental ambient, to lo-fi synth-pop and reinterpretations of disco, in this rituals for memory, we hear the words and sounds of everyday life, the politics of experience, diaspora, desire and familiarity through different aspects, eras and locations of electronic music and synths, incorporated in local music genres and traditions against and beyond coloniality.
